| Bio-degradable
|
|
|
| The ability to decay naturally and harmlessly as the result of the action of bacteria, limiting the amount of harmful chemicals released into the atmosphere and earth’s surface. |

Energy Efficient
|
|
|
|
Using cleaner or renewable energy sources to achieve the same level of efficiency. CO2 emissions and costs can be reduced by the use of “green energy” including natural energetic processes that can be harnessed with little pollution. For example, wind power, small-scale hydropower and solar energy.

| Environmentally Friendly
|
|
|
|
A product or ideology designed to minimise harm to the natural world and its inhabitants, e.g. by using biodegradable ingredients, as an aid to its conservation.

| Ethical
|
|
|
| Consistent with agreed principles of correct moral conduct. Avoiding practices that whilst not strictly illegal, they are certainly not ethical.

| Fair Trade
|
|
|
| Development of a pricing structure for produce that does not put producers in developing countries at a disadvantage.
|

| Organic
|
|
|
| Relating to or employing agricultural practices that avoid the use of synthetic chemicals in favour of naturally occurring pesticides, fertilizers, and other growing aids.

| Promotional Gift
|
|
|
| Any corporate give-away which is designed to promote an organisation, event or cause, with the intention of making them more widely known or more successful.

| Recycled
|
|
|
| Manufactured from used or waste materials that have been reprocessed.
|
|

| Sustainable
|
|
|
| Exploiting natural resources without destroying the ecological balance of an area.
